Glaisnock Project – Electrical Power Installation for Trace Heating

Client

Caledonia Water Alliance

Duration

3 Weeks

Project Overview

A&LMEICA was appointed by Caledonia Water Alliance to deliver a specialist electrical installation at the Glaisnock site, supporting critical infrastructure upgrades. The project focused on providing a reliable power supply for trace heating systems and pressure test instrumentation—key components in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of water treatment and distribution assets. The scope required careful integration with the existing electrical distribution network, demanding both technical precision and close coordination with civil works. This project not only demonstrated our technical capabilities but also reinforced our commitment to delivering high-quality, NICEIC-accredited electrical solutions in complex, live environments.

Works Detail

Scope of Work

  • Electrical integration into the existing distribution system
  • Installation of power supply for trace heating and pressure testing
  • Civil and electrical interface coordination

Key Achievements

  • Seamless process intervention to draw power from the existing distribution system
  • Successful commissioning within a tight 3-week schedule

Challenges & Solutions

One of the primary challenges was integrating the new system into the existing electrical infrastructure while managing civil interface complexities. Our team overcame this by:

  • Installing a transparent junction box to allow visual inspection of lightning protection units, mitigating exposure to live parts and enhancing safety.

Innovation in Action

This project showcased our commitment to innovation and safety—hallmarks of our NICEIC-accredited electrical services. The transparent junction box solution exemplifies our proactive approach to risk mitigation and operational visibility.
