Continued Success & Growth

Continued Success & Growth

In recent years, A&L Mechanical Installations have expanded by developing and following an ambitious, continuous improvement development plan. As of April 2023, our business plan has completed year 5 by achieving all of the key targets within our strategy. Restructuring, and greater exposure to markets has been a tremendous success. The company now occupies larger premises and employs 40% more people than 5 years ago.

Our Journey from “Good to Great” is well underway and has had a significant impact on growth. Our strategy included the desire to identify the right people and place them in the right seats, has significantly improved productivity and greatly enhanced our reputation. Growth has been delivered sustainably under a continuous development strategy. This approach will continue and will be supported through our commitment to our employees. That commitment has already delivered enhanced employee training & improvement plans, greater opportunities for career development and benefits that provide security, and support well-being to all. A&L are a Living Wage Employer and are active voluntary members of the Disability Confident scheme which helps us to understand the opportunities provided by employing disabled people.

Our fleet of fully equipped vehicles and mobile workshops continues to grow. Investment in our Workshops has continued which has greatly enhanced our steelwork and fabrications offerings. A further £200k has now been invested to fund a new Workshop Manager, additional fabrication resources and an upgrade of our Workshop Machinery & Tooling Facilities. This investment will greatly increase our productivity and deliver significant efficiencies, while making a major contribution to growth.

We are relentless in our efforts to widen the exposure of the business. A&L are now operating in Northern England and Ireland. The recent acquisition of an Electrical Engineering Business who operate in the Water Industry has given us much improved electrical contracting expertise and capability. A new facility in Inverness is now established, allowing us to offer an improved service to our customers in the North of Scotland including the Highlands & Islands.

Our commitment to making an appropriate contribution to carbon reduction is demonstrated by our engagement with Net-Zero Nation who are supporting our business with coaching and advice on reaching our internal targets and those of our clients.

We look forward to the challenges and opportunities that face us, safe in the knowledge that we have the support of East Ayrshire Council Business support and Net-Zero Nation Teams.
