A&L MEICA Annual Golf Day 2025 – A Day to Remember at Ballochmyle Golf Club

On Friday 20th June, A&L MEICA held its Annual Golf Day at the picturesque Ballochmyle Golf Club, nestled in the heart of Ayrshire’s Burns Country. With over 30 golfers taking part, the event was a perfect blend of competition, camaraderie, and sunshine.

The day began with breakfast in the clubhouse, followed by a briefing and a team photo at the first tee. Eight teams then took to the course in a Texas Scramble format, all vying for the coveted A&L Golf Trophy.

Ballochmyle, founded in 1937, is a parkland course rich in history and natural beauty. It’s famously linked to Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, who was inspired by the estate to write two of his most beloved songs: “Farewell to the Braes o’ Ballochmyle” and “The Bonnie Lass o’ Ballochmyle.”

After a day of excellent golf in glorious weather, one team stood out with a remarkable 7-under-par finish—an impressive 8-shot lead over the nearest rivals. Congratulations to our winning trio: Ross Cowan, Allan Carle, and team captain Justin “Rose” Reilly.

While the golfers battled it out on the course, our office team enjoyed a more relaxing day at a local spa, embracing a different kind of team bonding.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to another successful A&L tradition. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
