Role Summary: As a Mechanical Works Supervisor at A&L MEICA, you will be the single point of contact responsible for delivering quality and service in a safe and efficient manner. You will oversee mechanical construction activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and health and safety regulations. Your role will involve supervising site teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

What we are looking for:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise mechanical construction activities and ensure compliance with HSEQ and technical requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and quality control.
  • Report any unsafe acts, near misses, and ensure prompt follow-up.
  • Implement safety procedures and review method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and liaise with the Project Engineer on technical and H&S issues.
  • Ensure all plant and materials meet specifications.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures and witness critical quality activities.
  • Liaise with clients and main contractors as necessary.
  • Report progress and potential slippages to the Project Engineer.
  • Motivate and supervise site teams, ensuring high standards of work.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures and drive efficiency.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in mechanical assembly and installation within the water industry.
  • Familiarity with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and ductile iron pipework.
  • Knowledge of valves, components, pumps, and drive motor installations.
  • Experience with site surveys, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of H&S regulations, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Full mechanical engineering apprenticeship or demonstrable experience.
  • Relevant practical qualifications and training.
  • Full clean driving licence.
