Are you an experienced professional in managing teams of welders, fabricators, and apprentices? A&L MEICA is looking for a dedicated Fabrication Workshop Manager to lead our dynamic team.

What we are looking for:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on steel fabrication and installation.
  • In-depth knowledge of BS EN 1090 and EN ISO 3834.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software packages and CAD.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including effective team leadership, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Experienced Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and execute steelwork projects from enquiry to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  • Liaise with internal Project Managers, Clients, Engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and subcontractor services, negotiating contracts and agreements as required.
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to BS EN 1090 and EN ISO 3834.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimise disruptions and delays.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and promoting customer satisfaction.

Hours: 40.5 hours per week (Mon-Thu: 08:00-17:00, Fri: 08:00-15:00)
