About Us:

A&L specialise in the installation of all types of mechanical plant in the water and sewage
sector throughout the UK. Our services cover the Water and Wastewater Treatment sectors
offering Fabrication, Site Installation, and Testing of a wide range of process systems from
Sewage Pumping Stations and Waste Water Treatment Works to complete Water Treatment
Works and Membrane Plants.
We specialise in the installation of Pumps, Pipes, Valves, Process Plant, Membrane Plants
as well as the design, fabrication, and installation of pipework in Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron,
Coated Carbon Steel, GMS, ABS, UPVC, and Dual Containment Systems, we also offer a
complete maintenance, and refurbishment service for valves, actuators, and penstocks.
We also offer a complete electrical service from the design, Installation, and commissioning
as well as fault finding and rectifying of defects in electrical systems and plants.
We provide site surveys, troubleshooting services, and innovative engineering solutions

Role Responsibilities will include:
• Liaison with the electrical design engineer.
• Full Compliance with A&L/Client H&S Procedures.
• Ensure specific tools with the Hilti Tag are signed out to you using the Hilti App.
• Ensure you have all the electrical equipment to complete the scope of your work.
• Ensure you have your own tools and any specialist tools (Supplied by A&L
Mechanical) to fulfill the contract scope.
• Liaise with site operatives once on site to ensure the works can be progressed as
per the RAMS.
• Maintain contact with your line manager
• Always wear the PPE detailed in the RAMS.
• Installing any equipment to a high standard including cable tray, conduit, junction
boxes, cabling, sensors, switches, sockets, lighting, control panels, glanding, and
sensors, and use any installation literature provided.
• Supervision of site operatives and staff.
• If site facilities are available to use, ensure they are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensuring Compliance with Company Quality Management System

Preferred Certification (Training is Available to Preferred Candidates):

  • First Aid Appointed Persons
  • DOMS/National Water Hygiene
  • Electrical CSCS Card
  • Confined Space Trained

(16th, 17th or 18th Edition)

What we are looking for

You should have experience or, be familiar with:
• Familiar with or having experience in electrical installation for industrial applications
and electrical or mechanical systems.
• You will be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
• You will possess a hands-on & proactive work ethic.
• You must have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
• You must enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment to achieve
objectives safely, efficiently, and under time constraints.
• You should be willing to take ownership, possess attention to detail skills, and apply
safety awareness at all times
You should have a working knowledge of:
• Relevant H&S regulations and safe systems of work.

 

You should Possess the Following:
• Water Industry experience and be comfortable working in wastewater and clean
water environments.
• Knowledge of electrical systems fittings and fixtures in industrial applications.
• Knowledge of installation of fittings and fixtures in industrial applications.
• Maturity and practicality
• Good health and level of general fitness
• A full clean car driving licence
