A&L are a Multi-Award Winning Company who specialise in the installation of all types of mechanical plant in the water and sewage sector throughout the UK. Our services mainly cover the UK Water and Waste Water Treatment sectors offering Fabrication, Site Installation & Construction of a wide range of plant, equipment & processes.

We specialise in the installation of Pumps, Pipes, Valves, Process Plant, Membrane Plants as well as the design, fabrication and installation of pipework in Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron, Coated Carbon Steel, GMS, ABS, UPVC, and Dual Containment Systems. We also offer a complete maintenance, refurbishment service for valves, actuators and penstocks.

We provide site survey’s, trouble-shooting services and innovative engineering solutions across the Water Industry and other sectors in Scotland, UK and Ireland. Role Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Assembly and Installation of a wide variety of Plant and Equipment mainly within the Water Industry
  • You should have experience of working with material such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Ductile Iron Pipework.
  • Be familiar with Valves, Components and support systems related to Pipeline Installation
  • You should be familiar with Pumps and Drive Motor Removal & Installation.
  • Capable of problem solving, site repairs and installations at customer sites.

 

You should have experience of or be familiar with:

  • Turnkey Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Projects
  • Installation of Secondary Steelwork Supports and Bracketry
  • Stainless Steel Pipework Installation
  • Installation of Scotchkoted Pipework
  • Reservoir Tower Refurbishment (Mech. Plant)
  • Valve & Penstock Refurbishment
  • Installation of Odour Control and Air Handling Plant
  • Membrance and Associated Plant Installation
  • ABS & UPVC,PE, Polypropylene Fabrication & Installation
  • Installation and maintenance of Dry and Wet Well Pumping Stations
  • Mechanical Plant Repair, Maintenance & Refurbishment
  • Site Survey’s, Problem Solving and Troubleshooting

 

You should have a working knowledge of:

  • All relevant H&S regulations and safe systems of work

 

You should Possess:

  • Full mechanical engineering apprenticeship or demonstrable experience
  • Recognised practical qualifications or relevant training
  • Water Industry Experience
  • Experience of Construction Site Environments
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Installations
  • Maturity and Engineering practicality
  • Good health and level of general fitness
  • Relevant and suitable Hand Tools
  • A full clean car driving licence

 

You should be capable of and willing to:

  • Work to a Quality Management System
  • Report verbally and in writing if neccesary
  • Be available for travel throughout Scotland and occasionally other parts of the UK
  • Be committed to continuous improvement
  • Be a constructive and integrated member of a high performance team
  • Be conscientious and meticulous in your approach to work

Hours of Work are currently 40.5 Hrs P/week as follows-

0800 to 1700 with 30 minutes Lunch Break – MON to THU

0800 to 1500 with 30 minutes Lunch Break – FRI

Overtime hrs are paid at 1.5 x Hourly Rate

Travelling time may be paid at the discretion of the Company on a Job Specific Basis.
