A&L specialise in the installation of all types of M&E throughout the UK & Ireland. Our offering serves the Water and Waste Water Treatment sectors offering Fabrication, Site
Installation and Testing of a wide range of process systems from Sewage Pumping Stations and Waste Water Treatment Works to complete Water Treatment Works and Membrane
Plants.

The Company design and manufacture mechanical and electrical systems for various clients. We also design and manufacture electrical control panels for a variety of applications. Our engineers are used extensively throughout Scotland and the UK to install and commission mechanical, & electrical equipment and systems.

We specialise in the installation of Pumps, Pipes, Valves, Process Plant, Membrane Plants as well as the design, fabrication and installation of pipework in Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron,
Coated Carbon Steel, GMS, ABS, UPVC, and Dual Containment Systems, we also offer a complete maintenance, refurbishment service for valves, actuators and penstocks.

We provide site survey’s, trouble-shooting services and innovative engineering solutions across the whole water industry. Our experience and commitment to quality and service has

Summary of Need
• We are looking for a hands on Electrical/ Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record ideally in the Water Utility Sector, but this isn’t essential.

• Qualifications ideally an Electrical Degree or HNC, HND in an electrical & mechanical field, with 17th or 18th edition test and inspection.

• A knowledge of various mechanical & electrical systems.

• A passion for Instrument and control circuits.

• A good knowledge of Inverter drives.

• Electrical Industrial installation experience.

• Understand 4-20mA control techniques.

• Site experience is very desirable.

• Excellent communication and team skills.

• Confident Client facing skills.

• Full driving license.

• 17th or 18th Edition test and inspection ideal but not essential.

• Have an excellent understand of Health & Safety and be able to complete RAMS.

• a Knowledge of PLC software & hardware ideal but not essential.

All training will be provided to meet our Health & Safety standards and we will also provide additional training to enable you to fulfil your duties. Ideally you must have a clean driving
license and be willing to travel throughout Scotland and other parts of the UK and Ireland on occasion. Excellent rates of pay will be offered based on your experience and expertise.

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for providing surveys, pricing, designing and delivering installations for a variety of projects within a large delivery programme. You
will ensure compliance with the relevant contractual obligations, Client Standards and Water Industry Mechanical & Electrical Specifications (WIMES)

Engineering Director, you will help deliver the Company’s aspirations for Growth and Continuous Improvement. You will work within the delivery process in alignment with the Company Quality
Management System. You will help build and maintain successful relationships with clients and create a positive, collaborative customer journey.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Ownership of Surveys and subsequent tendering processes

You should have experience or, be familiar with:

• Familiar with or having past experience of a contracting or similar environment is essential
• You will be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
• You will possess a hands-on & proactive work ethic.

You should have a working knowledge of:
• Relevant H&S regulations and safe systems of work.
• Procurement, Management and Delivery under NEC Suite of Contracts
• Water Industry Mechanical & Electrical Specifications (WIMES)
• Water Industry Experience (Desirable but not essential)

You should Possess:

• A minimum of 5 Years Experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Components and Equipment
• Maturity and practicality
• Good health and level of general fitness
• A full clean car driving licence

You should be capable of and willing to:

Overview & General Duties
• To plan and organise work to meet timely and qualitative objectives.
• To ensure that the Company policies and procedures for the business are followed.
• To provide electrical support to the wider teams / business wide as appropriate.
• Evaluating / negotiating of electrical sub-contractors quotations and producing competitive costs for packages where quotations are required.
• In conjunction with the QMS, take any action required regarding discrepancies and/or non compliance.
• Ensure that QMS procedures are followed and implemented where necessary.
• Liaise closely with the Delivery Teams
• To work on Client Sites to deliver and/or supervise delivery of projects.

Required Skills & Experience
• Desirable 5 years’ experience of working for a main contractor in the Water/Construction industry
• Able to work on own initiative
• Experience of managing and prioritising own workload and that of others, whilst working under pressure
• Experience with Schedules of Rates and Framework Models
• Experience with Specifications and Drawings
• Knowledge of Estimating Packages
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages -Excel, Word
• Strong Electrical background
• HNC/HND in a construction related subject is desirable but not essential
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise well when designing multiple projects concurrently
• Strong attention to detail, accurate and methodical in work
• Ability to deal with complex tasks under pressure
• Clear communicator, confident in communicating and influencing at all levels
• Ability to build relationships and a good rapport with clients to generate confidence
