We are committed to sustainable development and employee well-being, offering enhanced training, career opportunities, and benefits. As a Living Wage Employer and a member of the Disability Confident scheme, we value diversity and inclusion.
Our expanding fleet and upgraded workshops, accredited to BS EN 1090 standards, enhance our steelwork and fabrication capabilities. Recent investments, including a new Workshop Manager and upgraded machinery, boost productivity and efficiency.
Operating across the UK and Ireland, we provide improved services throughout these regions. Our acquisition of an Electrical Engineering Business has strengthened our expertise in the Water Industry. We continue to invest in and develop our Electrical Engineering division to enhance our capabilities and service offerings.
Mechanical Engineering
At A&L, we provide comprehensive services that deliver low-carbon solutions. That will future proof ageing assets such as reservoir towers and their internal components, such as valves, pipework, and steelwork. With an exceptional track record of success across the UK, we offer full turn-key solutions, including mechanical design and construction.
A&L has a long-established reputation for excellence, with over 30 years of experience in delivering quality and service in water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects throughout Scotland, the UK, and Ireland. As approved framework contractors for several water industry clients, we specialise in both reactive and planned works across the UK and Ireland.
Our expertise in innovation, design, installation, and commissioning covers a wide range of water industry assets and processes. Our mechanical teams are trained to the highest standards, and our managers, engineers, supervisors, and operatives bring many years of water industry experience. At A&L, quality and service are included as standard.
Electrical Engineering
A&L’s electrical engineering capability, recently enhanced through acquisition, offers turnkey solutions for all electrical services. We design, install, test, and commission LV electrical systems in process-related applications, providing detailed design information such as cable calculations, line diagrams, and cable schedules.
Our on-site services include installation, system integration, testing, and commissioning, all certified to British Standards by Select and NICEIC. We also conduct thorough site surveys, testing, and inspection. Our in-house capabilities cover the design, manufacture, and testing of electrical components, including panels to BS61439, MCCs, and a wide range of electrical equipment.
We specialise in electrical installations for water and wastewater assets, including treatment systems, chemical dosing systems, screening, and grit removal plants, all meeting industry and British standards.
